CEIKA Type 1M Coilovers for Toyota CELICA ST165 (85~89)

Great gravel suspension for the price

Has my first race on them recently and they performed quite well. My only criticism is that it would be nice if the adjustable spring perches for the rear were able to clamp to the axle beam. Although I haven’t had any issues yet, I feel like the springs would be far more secure if the perches weren’t given an option to become dislodged. I’m sure for a road or track driven car this wouldn’t make a difference, but for rally cross I’m quite often at my maximum travel and sometimes on 3 wheels. Rear damper adjustability could be quite annoying, however I drilled a hole up through the wheel arch using the strut mount as a guide to allow me to adjust the dampening from inside the car without having to remove the strut. Overall, very happy with the purchase.

Porsche 996 Targa

A friend bought his coilovers a few months before me and said they were great.
I got a full set and had the "Helper Spring" option also, on his recommendation.

I have put about 800 miles on the new coilovers and I am happy with them. I am a road only driver, and Gauthier set them up for street use. I will recommend Cieka Perfomance to my fellow Porsche Club of America members.

I showed everyone before they were installed, so they could see the quality.

CEIKA TYPE 1M COILOVERS (Sport / Sport Low): 2019 MAZDA CX-9

These Cieka private label coilovers are actually made by one of largest manufactures of coilovers in Taiwan. They manufacturer many well known "JDM" brands that we are all familiar with. The quality of the ride is nice and firm. At the softest dampening setting (Sport), it was a noticeably stiffer than stock, but not overbearing. I would say its similar to a Alfa Romeo Stelvio or a BMW M-SUV. It is my daily driver, for my family of 5, and my little kids love it. However, the back row is a little rough and less forgiving. I went on 4 hour 240 mile round trip with the car fully loaded with 7 people, and had no complaints. The steering feels much more responsive, and I feel much more connected to the wheels.

I feel much more comfortable on hard turns. Body roll is much more level and controllable now. When my tires begin to break traction on hard turns, I have alot more control as I feather my gas through an oversteer slide. The suspension feels more connected and the car feels more predictable.

Under certain scenarios, with no music on, and its perfectly quite in the car, I will sometimes hear a slight squeaking sounds over very bouncy roads at slow speeds about 25-35 mph. I've only noticed it towards the beginning of my commutes. After 1,000 miles, it doesn't happen as much as it used to. Its a small trade off.

The car was originally lowered to have less than a finger gap. After a week, or two, front spring settled about 1/2 inch. Rear springs only settled 1/16 inch.
After alignment; Front camber: -1.50 Rear Camber is -2.65. I will be having custom JDM 3pc wheels built soon, and REALLY wish Ceika offered camber/top plates for my car!

You can stop looking... you want these guys!

The bolt on gaurantee is no lie... it was almost scary how smoothly these went in. My mechanic was also really impressed by the obvious build quality of all components.
Once it was all aligned, I took the car out for a spin. Immediately noticed the better ride... still stiff, but the helper springs did wonders for soaking up the horrible local roads. So went somewhere quiet and gave it all that I dared.

The TRACTION! I have always had decent grip, but try as I might, I just could not shake the composure of the new setup. No understeer or Oversteer, it just grips and turns and does it effortlessly.

It is a fantastic product and the guys at Ceika were extremely helpful during setup and ordering.
I am now saving up to get my hands on their big brake kit and I am VERY MUCH looking forward to it.

WELL DONE CEIKA!! :-)
